How a wrong figure is fixed
We check what you’ve sent against the official page. If our figure is wrong, it’s fixed where it starts, in the research record and the rules file. With the next update of the site, every page that prints the figure changes with it, and so do the calculators. Each page that changed moves its Updated date, under its title, to the day of the change.
A correction to a figure is listed at the top of this page. A spelling mistake or a clearer sentence isn’t listed, though it still moves the page’s Updated date.
When HMRC changes a rule
When HMRC or the law changes a rule, the pages change too. That’s an update, not a correction, so it isn’t listed here. The pages that print the rule move their Updated date, and their sources show the day the new rule was checked.
